Last week, our Nelnet offices observed Veterans Day with fundraisers, memorials, along with great food and company. Check out some of our offices’ Veterans Day events below.

Rocky Hill

The Rocky Hill office recognized Veterans Day by collecting food and other items, as well as $1,000 in cash, to send in care packages to soldiers who will be deployed overseas this holiday season. Several associates then packed up the boxes with the Middlesex County Blue Star Mothers.

At the Boise office, associate veterans and their family members were honored with a tailgate lunch on Nov. 9.

In Lincoln, Speedway Motors hosted a Veterans Day breakfast to honor Nelnet, ALLO, and Speedway veterans from Lincoln and Omaha. Guests listened to speeches from distinguished veterans, and the three companies signed a pledge in support of those currently serving.

Highlands Ranch

In the Highlands Ranch office, associates partnered with the Rocky Mountain Fisher House, a local organization that provides housing to veterans in the area for medical care. Nelnet associates donated $1,300 to the house, compiled gift bags and thank you cards for veterans, and served dinner to the house’s residents on Veterans Day. They also created an Honor Wall in their own office, where associates could leave messages about veterans in their own families.
