At Nelnet, giving back to the communities in which we live and work is a core value we proudly embrace, and there’s no better opportunity to do so than the holidays.

See how our offices across the country have made an impact in their communities this holiday season.

Lincoln, Nebraska

Our Lincoln office once again participated in City Impact’s Gifts of Love program, which provides gifts to over 3,000 families in Lincoln. This year, associates in Lincoln collected 1,011 items, $90 in gift cards, and $7,855.95 in monetary donations, plus $1,800 matched by Nelnet.

The NBS Training and PaymentSpring Operations Teams provided more than $150 worth of items to the Capital Humane Society in Lincoln. Pictured above are all the donated items including puppy pads, cat toys, dog treats and collars, along with NBS and PaymentSpring’s in-house canine rescue representative Carmen.

Omaha, Nebraska

In Omaha, our NBS and PaymentSpring associates took part in the Substitute Santa program through the Child Saving Institute, a safe haven for victims healing from family crisis, neglect, and abuse. They donated clothes, dolls, games, art supplies, and much more.

Madison, Wisconsin

Associates at Great Lakes generously held a food drive for The River Food Pantry. In addition to food, they collected other needed items such as toiletries, and raised $335.50 in monetary donations.

Aurora and Highlands Ranch, Colorado

Our Aurora and Highlands Ranch offices teamed up to donate over 100 new toys and bikes to the Mile High United Way Children’s Holiday Party. The event drew nearly 400 families where parents can select donated gifts from around the community for their children at the event’s “Toy Store.”

Rocky Hill, Connecticut

Associates at our Rocky Hill office volunteered packing produce at Community Food Share, a Feeding America food bank. They packed nearly 6,000 pounds of produce for distribution to those in the Hartford and Tolland communities.

Eagan, Minnesota

At the Eagan Great Lakes office, associates adopted four families through the 360 Communities of Love program. They held a bake sale, organized donations and raised $1,500. With the money they raised, they were able to give each family a $100 gift card to Cub Foods and fulfilled each families’ Christmas list.

Nelnet is proud of our offices for giving back to their communities. From our family to yours, we wish you a happy holiday season!
