FACTS®, a business within Nelnet Business Services, has been elevating education for 35-plus years as a trusted education technology and services partner primarily for private K-12 schools—and now for businesses and faith-based communities.

Strategic Evolution: Expanding Horizons

Over the last several years, FACTS has evolved immensely, developing new products, expanding into new markets, and acquiring new companies. The organization recently underwent a significant brand refresh to expand FACTS’ reach and capabilities while integrating several brands under one unified umbrella.

As Chief Marketing Officer for Nelnet Business Services Jodi Spethman pointed out, “We’re calling it a brand refresh because we haven’t rebranded FACTS. We’re retiring legacy brands and rolling their products and services under the FACTS umbrella.”

The integration expands FACTS’ customer base beyond K–12 private and faith-based schools to include corporate and faith-based markets with the goal of elevating education and learning in these markets as well. This brand refresh also signifies a strategic realignment to expand the role FACTS has held as a trusted partner for K–12 education, broadening its reach and impact.

“It’s a significant opportunity for FACTS to expand its support across multiple industries,” Jodi said. “Our new website serves as a centralized hub for schools, businesses, and faith-based organizations to discover products and services tailored to their unique needs.”

FACTS President Scott Spethman noted that a restructure of the FACTS leadership team and other organizational changes led to an organizational shift and broader external impact.

As soon as we brought all of our teams together, there was an immediate change in how people thought about the FACTS brand. They started thinking differently and recognizing the value of being part of one unified team.

Unified Product Offerings: Enhancing the Customer Experience

From the start, the FACTS brand has always been customer-centric. This brand refresh is no different. The decision to consolidate these brands and refresh the FACTS identity was driven by a commitment to simplify and enrich customer interactions across the board. The refresh creates customer clarity along with internal efficiency. As Scott noted, “The refresh allows us to offer a suite of solutions in a broader way under the FACTS umbrella instead of people thinking of us within individual product silos.”

With this unified approach, customers also receive the value of a comprehensive suite of solutions rather than fragmented services.

As Jodi noted, “With the refresh, we can offer new products to our existing customers and also expand FACTS into other markets with our variety of products.” She adds that there’s value in mixing new and existing customers within the same community and allowing them to learn from each other. “As we move forward, the FACTS brand will continue to embody the same values and quality our K–12 customers have always appreciated, while also expanding our capabilities to meet the evolving needs of businesses and faith-based organizations,” Jodi emphasized.

New Initiatives: Driving Growth and Innovation

With the brand refresh, FACTS redefined its core strengths and identified opportunities for growth and innovation. Scott is excited about further exploring other areas the team has targeted for development.
